Bosio hospital at Candolim functions in the premises gifted to the Sisters of Charity of Sts. Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa by the heirs of Racino and Herminia Pinto. It was gifted by Fr. Xavier Pinto. Then the Hospital could accommodate 16 patients.
The Hospital at present has almost all specialities: medical, surgical, orthopaedics, gynaecological, dermatology, paediatrics, ophthalmology, and other facilities like X-Ray, Ultrasonography, laboratory, operation theatre, and I.C.U. There is also the Dental department run in the hospital. Most of the patients we receive are the migrants from the remotest areas of various states, who come in search of work. Besides that we get tourist patients. Now the hospital is upgraded to have 25 beds.
We have 2 doctors who work round the clock to give emergency care to the patients. There are other doctors who have their special O.P.D. on specified days. They also attend to emergency calls.
Bosio Hospital functions as a family, with the spirit of the Gospel and in the footsteps of our Saints Bartolomea Capitanio and Vincenza Gerosa. We owe our sincere gratitude to all our generous benefactors for their contributions which has made Bosio Hospital what it is today.
Gerosa convent was started at the request of people and CRI president Fr. Theodore Pereira O.F.M. (Cap), during the time of Provincial Superior Sr. Esther Joseph on 16th November 1997.
